In the 24-year history of the continental championship, the Kingdom was the first nation in North Africa to host the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. Additionally, it played in the first ever Arab WAFCON final. Ghizlane Chebbak, the captain of Morocco, received “Player of the Tournament” honours.
